Outdoors Newsletter - March 2006

1 - REASON #8 TO GO OUTSIDE:

It’s always nice out.

Ground hogs… I don’t know about you, but where we live it snowed on the official first day of spring. The last two years were so warm in February and March that I had forgotten what it’s like to have four seasons.

Not to worry though. When you truly love something, you accept it for what it truly is and when you love the outdoors, the conditions are always just right. Go see.

2 - THE 3 TIPS:

Spring is springing and a summer full of robust, outdoor adventures is calling. Get a leg up on all the tourists with a few minutes of preseason preparation.

1. Book your reservations now. This might be tough if your life attracts curve balls, but if you reserve it, the unexpected is less likely to bother you. Websites like www.ReserveAmerica.com are a good place to start.

2. Swap gear. The more gear you have, the more robust your adventures can be and a gear swap is a great way to inexpensively get into a new sport. Visit your local outdoor gear store for information on spring gear swaps that they or other locals will be holding.

3. Just go. All of your trips do not have to be elaborately planned, multi-day excursions that cause you more stress than they relieve. Sometimes you just gotta grab the basic essentials and hit the trail for an hour or two. A little spontaneity and a few deep breaths will be the start of a lot of great memories.
