Lightweight multi-sport hiker made for day hiking where you need extra cushion. It's very comfortable, waterproof and has "normal shoe" styling.

THE GOOD
Hidden in this normal exterior is power to go off road. The 851 Hiker is waterproof and has a stiff sole for agressive trails. It is also comfortable and has above average cushion.
THE BAD
The 851 Hiker does not have any toe impact or scuff protection like most hikers. It also trades durability for comfort, but that may be what you are looking for.
THE FIT & COMFORT
Fits like a shoe and has a standard foot shape (slight curve and medium width) the same as Merrell and Nike ACG. New Balance has lots of wide options available.
